The Family at Christmas

Happy Christmas and New Year

First we would like to say we hope you had/are having a wonderful Christmas. We pray that you will know the Lord's blessing in the New Year.

Last week was a busy week. Paul had to get his November VAT return out by Friday so it could be paid before the month end and as we are not working this coming week Friday was the last day. We thank the Lord that it was completed and filed by around lunch time on Friday. Paul has a few things to complete for the end of November accounts so will probably try and get those done this week though the office is closed, then he can start afresh in the New Year with December.

Other than the above we will be able to have some good time together as a family though there is not a lot to do around Dodoma and no places you can go to much. It should be a good break from the business of before.

With much love from us all here in Tanzania.

Last Week of School

This is the last week of school for Edith and the Children not only for this year but also for the coming year. We have decided due to a number of reasons to Home school the children for now starting in January, this will be a challenge but also a good opportunity for Edith but an idea age for her to start, more about that next year.

Paul has two more weeks work before the Christmas break so hopes to be able to complete all the November work and may be start on December before the 24th, this will be challenging but we hope this will be possible so we can have a good break over Christmas.

This evening/last night we were down at the cathedral for the Christmas Carol service which was very enjoyable. We were able to enjoy some very familiar carols and readings and not so unusual here we had some by candle light, this time voluntary not because the power was off.

Well we trust and hope you all have a wonderful week and you will know the Lord's blessing on you all.

Love form us all

Contrasts

There are so many contrasts around. Currently those of you who are in England are having some snow, if we had been in Mongolia they have also been having snow and their mornings are now below -15c but us here in Tanzania we are at the other end with day time temperature up to around 34c, so we are finding it rather hot, though a dry heat, but the nice thing about Dodoma is that there is a nice breeze around most of the time. Now for those of our team down in Dar es Salaam the story is different there they have it very hot and it is very humid being on the coast so can be very sticky for you even when not doing too much.

We have put a few pictures on the Blog of the Flame trees here in Dodoma, they are a most beautiful tree this time of year with bright red flowers, they are turning orange now but do look so wonderful and colourful.

Sorry for little reports the last couple of weeks, Paul has been covering as acting programme manager again so has had a fair amount of things to do. Ian is now back so we are very thankful.

Edith's Suzan arrived safely back in Uganda by plane the other Sunday and was taken to the hospital that week, at first they could not find anything wrong in the blood tests but then they did I think it was a bone marrow test and they found she had Meningitis. She has now been having the treatment for this and Edith has spoken to her a number of time and she seems to be improving. The treatment is for fourteen days so should finish this week God willing. Please continue to pray for a full recovery for her.

This week is the second to last week of school for this year so Edith and the children will be looking forward to the Christmas break. Paul will as usual be in the office and hopes to see the completion of the October figures tomorrow and then to be able to get straight on with November figure so they are done as quickly as possible.

Thank you all again for your continued support through prayers and giving we do so appreciate you all and sorry we are not up to date with letters and emails so please be patient one will come soonish!!

God Bless and love form us all

Paul, Edith, John-Luke & Gabriella
